WILDETECTURE & QJD DESIGN STUDIO - 2011

QJD design studio was established in 1999 in Cape Town, Wildetecture design studio, est 2011. 

Both design studios create and tailor new homes - however with the privilege of designing a new home comes the excitement of designing the furniture, landscapes, sculpture and art. 

Attached is a small sample of a few of the roughed out wildetecture design pieces that have made their way into a few homes around South Africa. 

The Wildetecture studio is the studio i find myself most drawn to. Its a shared design creative space with 2 of the most incredibly gifted creative human beings ive ever met. As a collective we aspire to try create a unique artistic creative narrative. Not from ego but from a necessity to start a different creative artistic dialogue. In a world that aspires to all be the same. We look to try and be slightly different. The motto one hears ad nauseum is to think out the box. However we are taught the perameters of the box beyond measure. To think outside of it is really impossible if one is shackled to its limits. Simply let go of the chains that bind, easier said than done. No exact formula, however you will know when you do. Dont expect the masses to be happy with your choice to be artistically different. To think outside the box historically is to think very much on your own. Be happy and ok with that.

Huge structural steel built design environment sculptural architectural lived in structures. This concept is not a new idea. Infact the technology to build these types of wild sculptural architectural structures has been around for awhile. What hasnt been around to accompany these skills is the vision to actualise such sculptures for human habitation. So wildetecture architectural design studio is using all manner of means of creative tools from old fashion sketch to drilling down deep into the AI algorythm. We look to further pure creative design thought to sculpt wild built environment landscapes that we would like to live in. If geometric grid big box, small box is your architectural design thing.
